Korean Government Scholarships
Purpose of the program
To provide foreign students with opportunities for in-depth research in undergraduate and graduate programs in higher educational institutions of the RepublicKorea with the aim of promoting international education exchange, promoting international education in the country and mutual friendship between countries.
170 people will receive a scholarship for studying in the bachelor's degree
700 people will receive a scholarship for studying in the master's and postgraduate studies
Requirements
Both the applicant and his parents must be citizens of their country of origin.Applicants must not hold Korean citizenship.
Applicants must be in sufficient health, both mental and physical, to remain in a foreign country for a long time.For undergraduate - must be up to 25 years old on the date of entry
For graduate and postgraduate studies - must be no more than 40 years old on the date of admission
Have a GPA higher80% in last school
Korean language training
Grant recipients are required to take Korean language courses for1 year.Those who have achieved a level of Korean proficiency above level 5 in TOPIK are exempt from this requirement.
The scholarship covers the following expenses:
economy class air flight from the student's homeland to Korea;
payment of accommodation - 800,000 KRW;
tuition fees (the government allocates 5 million KRW for tuition fees, and if the tuition fees exceed this amount, the difference is covered by the university where the student will study);
one-time financial aid to the student upon arrival in Korea in the amount of KRW 200,000;
Grant that is paid after graduation - 100,000 KRW;
Korean language course;
medical insurance;
grants are also awarded to pay for research and dissertation defense;
Students who already know Korean will receive an additional 100,000 KRW monthly throughout the course of the program.
