State scholarship in Latvia

Are you planning to go to study in Latvia?Then you will definitely like this information.The government of the country accepts applications for scholarships for bachelor's, master's and postgraduate students.This is a great opportunity to get a higher education abroad at a good discount.

The scholarship is awarded to applicants who have successfully completed at least one year of study at their country's university or higher education institutions in Latvia.The competition is open to students from those countries that have signed an agreement with Latvia on cooperation in the field of education and science (for more details see website).

Important: study programs at Latvian universities are built in English or another foreign language.Applicants must be good at it in order to be able to study.To do this, before entering a specific university, you need to look in which language the course is being taught.

The scholarship for undergraduate or graduate studies is provided for 1 academic year (2019-2020).

Scholarship amount:

  • 500 euros per month for undergraduate and graduate students

  • 670 euros per month for graduate students

Please note that the scholarship will not cover the full tuition fees for the year.Accommodation, meals, round trip flights and insurance will also not be covered.For some students, higher education institutions may provide a place in a hostel.Those applicants who have already won in another competition cannot receive a Latvian scholarship.

All applications will be evaluated by a special criteria committee (theirthe list is on the website).The list of accepted candidates will be published on the website of the State Development Agencyformation of Latvia in early June.
