The Institute on Behavior and Inequality (briq) announces the second Summer School in Behavioral Economics to be held in Bonn, Germany, for a full week from 8 to 12 July 2019.

The purpose of the schoolis to introduce graduate students in economics to a variety of cutting-edge topics in the field of behavioral economics.

Famous economists such as Armin Falk, Botond Kosegi and Florian Zimmermann, as well as George Loewenstein, Douglas Bernheim and Muriel Niederl will give lectures and presentations.Each faculty member will highlight the open-ended questions of the latest behavioral economics research.The schedule includes many opportunities for students to interact and discuss their ideas and research with faculty and fellow students.

The Summer School will focus specifically on educating students about the latest research and not on the basics of behavioral economics.Consequently, candidates are expected to be already familiar with the basic phenomena and patterns of behavioral economics - or ready to catch up in advance by studying basic knowledge.

FINANCING

25 participants will study free of charge all week, in addition the program covers economy class flights and six nights of accommodation, including breakfast and meals...

APPLICATION

To submit an application you need:

  • upload yoursummary;
  • an essay about your research goal (maximum two pages);
  • graded transcript;
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members describing your research potential and interest in behavioral economics.

The Summer School is fully organizedfunded by the Institute on Behavior & Inequality.Funding is provided subject to attendance at the entire Summer School.Please note that tax regulations prohibit the Institute from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of conference participants who decide to combine their study trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the 7-day summer school period.
