U.S. State Department held a virtual exhibition of foreign education

The U.S. Department of State partnered with the Institute for International Education and CollegeWeekLive to host a virtual overseas education exhibit, opening a platform that provided video conferencing facilities and resources for prospective students from around the world.
More than 3,000 people visited the exhibit that day. Fifty university representatives, U.S. State Department officials, and other exhibitors from 13 different countries gave live presentations to attendees, and students also had the opportunity to ask any questions and receive personal counseling.

"We provided a really valuable opportunity for American college students and high school students who may have been interested in studying abroad, but have not yet had a chance to visit their campus or have not yet decided on a program," reports Daniel Obes The online platform allowed many students from all over the country to participate and get  useful information."

In addition to study abroad programs, the presentations also raised the issue of work experience abroad and emphasized the importance of overseas education. The largest number of attendees was from California, followed by Texas and Florida. CollegeWeekLive says it will enroll up to 90,000 international students on the platform during the 2014-15 school year.
