Volunteering at the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Beijing 2022) is committed to a «green», open and clean approach to hosting the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Games).

To attract talent from around the world for the Games, Beijing 2022 begins global volunteer recruitment on Dec. 5, 2019.

All volunteers fall into two broad categories: general and specialized volunteers. Specialist volunteers are those who have professional knowledge, skills, and expertise in a specific area, including language, medical, or driving. Non-specialist volunteers are regular volunteers.

The work areas open to volunteering include international relations, competitive operations, press operations, broadcasting, field operations, marketing, human resources, technology, cultural programs, logistics, security, transportation, etc.

Requirements

- Volunteer must abide by Chinese laws and regulations, be willing to serve at the Games on a voluntary basis, and accept Beijing 2022 guidelines;

- Volunteer must be at least 18 years old on or before January 1, 2022 (born on or before January 1, 2004) and in good health;

- Must have the knowledge and skills necessary for the position;

- Must be able to communicate effectively in Chinese and/or English;

- Must be able to participate in all required training and volunteer services for the Games.

Benefits

Peijing 2022 will provide volunteers with accreditation, uniforms, food and beverages, appropriate insurance and appropriate medical services;

Volunteers must pay their own travel expenses from their place of residence to the competition areas in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Upon arrival in China with their accreditation card, volunteers may use public buses, urban railroad transportation (except for the airport line) and commuter buses of the Games in and between competition areas free of charge;

Volunteers must pay their own travel expenses to the competition areas in Beijing, Yanking and Zhangjiakou.

Peijing 2022 will provide appropriate incentives for Games volunteers, including service certificates and matching souvenirs.

Application opens on December 5, 2019 and closes at 24:00 on June 30, 2021 Beijing time. All applicants are asked to register and apply at Beijing 2022 Volunteer Application Portal.
