The Irish Research Council’s Employment-Based Postgraduate Programme is a unique national initiative linking excellent researchers in all disciplines with workplace experience in an employment partner; ranging from multinational corporations to SMEs, public-sector agencies and, where justified, non-governmental organisations. The scheme provides awardees with the opportunity to pursue research in collaboration with a higher education institution while based in, and employed by, their employment partner.
The Irish Research Council contributes up to €27,500 per annum towards the researcher costs.
All applicants: 4.1.1 must have completed a bachelor’s of sufficient standing by 31 June 20212, in line with Clause 4.2. The Council’s determination of an applicant’s eligibility on these criteria is final; 4.1.2 must not have had two previous unsuccessful applications to the Employment-Based Programme; 4.1.3 in the case of applications for a research master’s, must not currently hold or have previously held a Council scholarship; 4.1.4 in the case of applications for a doctoral degree, must not currently hold or have previously held any Council scholarship other than that which would have enabled them to obtain a research master’s degree.
