StudyQA — University Scholarship — Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Master Scholarships

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is pleased to offer a number of Faculty Masters Scholarships (fees-only) to outstanding UK, EU and Overseas applicants wishing to undertake a Masters level programme within the Faculty. Outstanding applicants to both full-time and part-time Masters Programmes will be considered. Awards will be paid in the form of a fee-waiver for one year for full-time programmes, and will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time programmes.

Applicants wishing to be considered for these awards should complete the Faculty Scholarship application form and send it to their admitting department by 5pm on Friday 1 March. All applicants must already hold an offer of a place to study in any department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and should be due to commence their studies. Applicants may only apply for an award for a programme on which they are not already registered.

The terms of the award are as follows:

Award holders must be registered on a Masters programme in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Where an applicant has been made a conditional offer of a place on a programme, any award will be conditional upon the programme conditions being met.
Scholarships will not be paid to holders of UK Research Council studentships or the equivalent thereof. The Faculty reserves the right to withhold the unpaid portion of any bursary in the event that the holder succeeds in securing alternative external funding at any time during the period covered by the award.
Awards are made subject to continuing satisfactory progress as a Masters student and may be withdrawn at any time if progress is deemed to be unsatisfactory.
This award must be taken up in the year in which it is awarded. Applicants who wish to defer the start of their studies to the following academic year will not be able to retain the award and will have to re-apply to the competition in the following year, should an award be available. Applicants should inform the Faculty Postgraduate Admissions Office of their decision at the earliest possible stage, in writing, by letter or e-mail.
