The applicant must meet all of the requirements below. Russian citizenship and permanent residence on the territory of the Russian Federation, starting from January 1 of the current year. Persons who already have a residence permit in the United States, as well as persons with dual Russian-American citizenship, cannot participate in the competition for a Fulbright scholarship. At the time of filing the application, the applicant must have a scientific degree not lower than a candidate of sciences. EXCEPTIONS apply to professionals outside the academic environment, creative and applied professionals, as well as employees of archives, libraries and museums. For them, having an academic degree is not a hard condition, however, confirmation of their high professional level and certain recognition in the professional community is necessary. These applicants must have higher specialized education, at least 5 years of work experience in the field and publication. They are assumed to be involved in domestic and international projects. The category of applicants without a degree includes specialists in the disciplines "Architecture", "Urban planning", "Library \ archival \ museum business", "Music", "Theatrical art", "Theory of communications", "Choreography", as well as artists and designers applying for the discipline "Art". Creative Writing candidates must also have published work (prose, poetry, plays, screenplays). The applicant must be proficient in English to the extent necessary to complete the proposed project in the United States. Knowledge of the language is tested during the second round of the competition, during an interview held in Moscow. NO AGE RESTRICTION.
