We train you in the disciplines necessary, chosen according to your own background. This gives you a professional basis for a career in bioprocessing in the pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, fine chemicals and environmental protection industries and services.

For the first eight months you have lectures, tutorials and laboratory work assessed both continuously and by examinations.From June to September you gain research training on your own project attached to one of the teams working in the bioprocessing research section.

The programme is strongly design-orientated and you complete a full process plant design exercise.

* Fermentation and cell culture
* Bioseparations, monitoring and control
* Bioremediation of solid and liquid wastes
* Food processing
