What is European Law?

A European Law is a complex system, consisting of European integration law, legal norms ensuring functioning of the European system for the protection of human rights, as well as other legal norms of European international treaties.

Concept of European Law can be understood either as Legal regulation of relations in Europe (as a continent), including all international organizations activity, or, which is more specific, as a law which exist only in the countries of the European Union - this law is laid down in the Treaties.

A degree in European Law is the best option for non-EU students wishing to receive education in Law area which can be applied to law systems in a lot of countries. A European Law study program doesn’t varies a lot from country to country; a regular Law degree depends on the legislation of the country in which you study. That is why many prospective students choose an European Law degree instead of a regular Law degree. But of course, if you are interested in the law-enforcement system of a specific country, you wish to work in this country and to deal only with its internal affairs, then you should definitely apply for a Law study program in one of the universities of this country. Applicants for undergraduate degree in Law need to have high grades in History and Social Sciences.
