Duration: The minimum period of study for full-time students is three (3) academic semesters and the maximum period of study is eight (8) academic semesters.
Students enrolled in the Master degree in Molecular Biology will be allowed to apply for a change of their Master degree to the Master degree in Experimental Molecular Biology which is also offered by the Department of Biological Sciences, by the second semester of their studies, which will be subject to approval by the CPS and the Departmental Council.
The postgraduate programmes of each department are supervised by a three-member Postgraduate Programmes Committee, chaired by a Postgraduate Programmes Coordinator. The Coordinator may the chairperson of the department or a member of the academic staff appointed by the chairperson. The other members of the committee are appointed by the Departmental Board. The Committee is appointed for a two-year term.
For every student in the Postgraduate Programme, the department appoints an Academic Supervisor.
To obtain this Master degree, candidates must successfully complete 90 ECTS as follows:
The course BIO 680 carries 20 ECTS and it's compulsory. Seminar attendance (BIO800 and BIO 801) is also compulsory. The remaining 70 ECTS are obtained by attending classes from a list of restricted elective courses (10 ECTS each).
