Actuarial Science is an elite program at SFU that leads to a professional designation as an actuary пПР a profession that analyses financial risk. One way to describe their work is that they "put a price on risk," so that businesses can evaluate whether their risk decisions are within acceptable limits. Actuaries work in many industries, including insurance, finance, pensions, health care and currency exchange. If you have a strong interest in business, economics and mathematics, actuarial science may be for you.The SFU program in Actuarial Science is a small program with limited class sizes. Students entering from high school typically apply to our Statistics program and compete for entry into the Actuarial program upon completion of their second-year actuarial science requirements.
