This distance-learning Masters programme responds to the increasing use of a Community Development approach for dealing with a wide range of social, economic and environmental issues worldwide. As an experienced Community Development practitioner, this programme will provide you with the advanced continuing education to progress into areas of greater responsibility within the sector.
This is the only distance learning programme in Scotland which focuses on global approaches to Community Development.
We collaborate with the International Association for Community Development (IACD) to deliver this programme. Aligning closely with their extensive global network of partners and practitioners ensures that course content remains relevant to the field.
You will participate in global learning events that run in parallel with IACD conferences.
You will have access to a network of highly experienced academics and practitioners working in Community Development.
Programme overview
MSc: 24 months part-time(distance learning)
This programme is offered by distance learning. Each course will consist of a wide range of online tasks (both group and individual), as well as inputs from the teaching team and other practitioners and a comprehensive range of support materials.

Aimed at experienced Community Development practitioners, the programme will provide you with the attributes to undertake strategic and highly demanding roles within the sector. It will increase your ability to compete for posts in an international arena.
