The Master of Arts in Creative Writing is created for experienced writers who would like to further develop their theoretical understanding and skills. Students learn invaluable skills and work towards developing a major project under the guidance of an academic faculty member with expertise in creative writing. Students study one genre in depth or explore a range of genres and media.

UTS recognised bachelor level, or equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional credentials that demonstrates possibility to pursue graduate studies. Applicants with a bachelor degree: the level has to take the area of education, direction and commerce, society and culture or creative arts. If the level is not in these areas, applicants also have to have a minimum of 2 years related work experience. Applicants must answer the employment question in the UAC application as employment experience is assessed in line with the response provided. For applicants with a master, graduate diploma or graduate certification: the level could be in virtually any field of study. If applicants haven't met any of their requirements previously, they must provide: your own statement (approximately 500 words) explaining why they would like to examine the program, and a CV that ought to contain information on voluntary and paid work or different adventures.
