The Bass Trombone Programme at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia is designed to provide students with the highest level of instruction in the art of bass trombone playing. Our faculty of world-renowned bass trombonists will guide you through the fundamentals of playing the instrument, as well as more advanced techniques. You will learn how to read music, develop your ear, and develop your own unique sound. You will also have the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles, from small chamber groups to large symphonic orchestras.

In order to be accepted into our Bass Trombone Programme, applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in both solo and ensemble performance. Applicants must also demonstrate a strong knowledge of music theory and aural skills. Additionally, applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience playing the bass trombone.
