Bushfire Protection

This two-year part-time Graduate Diploma program provides students with an extensive comprehension of the behaviour and threat of bushfires with regard to local vegetation, land administration and weather states. Students will achieve the knowledge of emergency administration and bushfire fighting techniques. Candidates will have the ability to supply information on progress in bushfire prone regions, assess construction designs contrary to both deemed-to-satisfy and operation needs of the planning provisions, construction standards and code. The course has been designed primarily as a Distance Learning course. But, select units (three in total) have intensive block style compulsory workshops that want students to attend. A number of the other components have non-compulsory workshops and students are encouraged to go to the workshops to obtain the gain of the face area to face interaction within the course. This course additionally sets a pathway for further learning at the Master level.

Fire Protection Association Australia certification is being searched .

• Undergraduate level or higher, in bushfire protection, engineering, land surveying, building, building surveying, construction, planning, urban studies, architecture, landscape design, physical sciences, environmental studies, natural resource administration, emergency management, land use planning, municipality or public sector management
• Or an AQF Diploma or higher in the bushfire protection, engineering, land surveying, building, building surveying, construction, planning, urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture, physical sciences, environmental studies, natural resource administration, emergency management, land use planning, municipality or public sector management PLUS 4 years fulltime equivalent voluntary or professional job experience in the relevant areas in industry, town, or country fire products and providers.
