Bushfire Protection

This three year parttime distance learning class provides students with an understanding of the behaviour and threat of bush fires. Students will acquire the knowledge of the relevant planning criteria, building regulations, standards and emergency management arrangements for bushfire protection. Graduates will have the ability to conduct hazard assessments, provide advice on developments in bushfire prone regions and develop alternative technology design solutions. Graduates may also get the skill to independently conduct research to address contemporary issues faced by the building industry in bush fire prone regions. Although most units at the class usually do not need mandatory attendance to workshops, you will find a couple of exceptions where attendance and presentations are all required.
