Requirements for the Cello Programme at Gaetano Donizetti Institute of Music Studies

Are you interested in studying the cello at the Gaetano Donizetti Institute of Music Studies? Our cello programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful cellist. In order to be accepted into the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of prior cello experience
  • A minimum grade of B in music theory
  • A minimum grade of B in music history
  • A minimum grade of B in ear training
  • A minimum grade of B in sight-reading
  • A minimum grade of B in music composition
  • A minimum grade of B in music performance

In addition to the above requirements, applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation from a music teacher or mentor, as well as a personal statement outlining their goals and aspirations as a cellist.
