As a chemical engineer you will be able to change the world around you. In the Bachelor’s programme in Chemical Engineering, you will design and modulate large and small production processes, or you examine and specify the properties of new high-tech materials. Your activities will take place at the atomic and molecular scale, all the way up to the factory scale. In addition to chemistry, physics and mathematics are also essential components: the programme has a strong focus on the technological application of chemistry. At UT, the emphasis is on three themes: nanotechnology, dealing with the smallest of structures; process technology, focusing on the design and development of processes for the chemical industry; and materials science, improving the properties of materials or developing new materials. The applied nature of the programme ensures tremendous variation: the interests of society, profitability, sustainability, good planning and communication are often just as important as the technological solution. After you graduate, the world will be your oyster. Chemical engineers work not only in the chemical industry, but also in research or the consultancy sector.
