Clinical Psychology

This course provides students with everything required to start working as a practicing psychologist. Students will: Utilize their understanding about psychology and mental health to critically assess, diagnose, develop case formulations, treat and prevent emotional problems and emotional health issues throughout the life span; comprehend their own livelihood regarding the special purpose of clinical psychologists in providing evidence-based emotional services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultancy and research services across diverse settings; comprehend psychopathology, emotional psychopharmacology and mental medicine, along with neurological issues relevant to mental health displays , analytical processes, health psychology and behavioral medicine; transform evaluation and research findings to policy, implemented knowledge, and also improved treatments; provide capable professional oral and written reports to various stakeholders to emotional topics for medical, health, medico legal, along with forensic purposes; practice with kids, adolescents, adults and older persons in a style relevant to Clinical Psychology; and also behavior high-level advanced independent research on the topic of clinical relevance.

Evidence of successful conclusion, preferably within the previous ten years, of a four-year APAC-accredited sequence in psychology, or its equivalent, therefore that the candidate qualify for Associate Membership of the Australian Psychological Society and registration with the ACT Psychologists' Board. Applicants are required to have achieved an honours 1 benchmark inside their 4th year psychology Honours or Graduate Diploma course, or the equivalent. Evidence of research training and aptitude for research. Conditional registration as a psychologist and also a decent Federal Police report. In addition, applicants are also expected to go to an interview.
