Computational Biology

The Guru of Computational Biology builds specialist skills in bioinformatics, systems biology, and biological and ecological modelling. You'll choose a customised first-year based on your own academic foundation, accompanied closely by a blend of core, elective and project subjects to suit your interests during the second and third decades. All students undertake a research project, over 6-12 months, taking care of a real world technical research study question. You'll be paired with a number of our expert researchers or industry partners, profiting out of our intimate relations into the 30 hospitals, medical research associations and bio technology institutes that constitute the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct in just a quick walk of the Parkville campus.

• An undergraduate degree in an appropriate scientific field (Computational Biology, Biology, Bio Medicine, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Mathematics and Statistics), with a course weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%)
• requisite subject MAST10005 Calculus 1 or 2 equivalent.
