Students can be equipped with a range of counselling knowledge and skills to be professional accredited counsellor. Research workers demonstrate a traditional and contemporary approach to counselling. Subjects include psychology, counselling theories and skills, cultural diversity and specialist subjects like family therapy and injury and emergency counselling. Two placements have been completed in the final year of analysis providing 500 hrs of workplace experience in counselling. The application is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and also the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Graduates are able to apply for membership of ACA or PACFA.
