This program educates the next generation of dental professionals at the most advanced tertiary oral health facility in Australia.

With a focus on smaller cohorts and dedicated and specialist teachers, students will not only learn the science and acquire the technical skills to care for patients and prevent, diagnose, treat oral diseases & abnormalities, but also master the technical skills and knowledge needed to provide quality oral healthcare and make a genuine difference to the lives of others.

This program ensures graduates will be workforce ready. Along with gaining in depth theoretical knowledge, students complete approximately 1,900 hours of practical placements in a variety of clinical settings with the possibility of a clinical placement in State Government and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Service clinics throughout Queensland or interstate.

Students will undertake approximately 1,900 hours of supervised clinical practice in a range of clinical settings including the new Oral Health Centre (OHC) as well as government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service clinics. During their placements, students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge acquired through coursework to practice and develop their clinical skills in real life setting.

Students will commence pre-clinical (simulated) placements from semester one of the program and will move into clinics treating patients from year three.

Students may be required to undertake clinical placements outside of the Brisbane metropolitan area and students are required to fund their travel, accommodation and daily living expenses.
