The Double Bass Programme at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia is designed to provide students with the highest level of instruction in the art of playing the double bass. In order to be accepted into the programme, applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to the study of the double bass and demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency. All applicants must also have a good understanding of music theory and be able to read music.

We also require that all applicants have a minimum of two years of double bass playing experience. Additionally, applicants must have a good understanding of the history and repertoire of the double bass.
