Having a good command of French not only opens up a whole new world of ideas, it is also an asset for careers in teaching, law, government, management, public relations, and international affairs.The Department has a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the study of French. In addition to language courses, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, the Department offers five areas of study - culture, linguistics, literature, translation and pedagogy (teaching and learning) - in which students explore various aspects of francophone in depth.
