Concordia's French program is built upon dynamic principles that give you a sound basis in French grammar. These concepts are presented in meaningful contexts, so that the acquiring of communicative skills is parallelled by a growing awareness of the cultural and literary traditions of Francophone countries. Our instructors are committed to enlivening the study of French through the introduction of contemporary video and other resource materials into the course material. Students are encouraged to apply for a five-week government bursary to Quebec, or for a four-week course in France. A degree in French opens up career options in the Canadian government or in businesses where a knowledge of French is essential; it may also serve as a prelude to graduate work or a career in teaching.
