Both German and Indian companies are in need of adequately skilled future employees. Therefore Hof University, Germany, offers in a cooperation with PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, India this innovative MBA programme German-Indian Management Studies (GIMS). The MBA addresses at Indian engineers with the following specialisations:

mechanical engineering
electrical engineering
environmental engineering
process engineering
materials and surface engineering
as well as other engineering disciplines

The focus of the Master Programme is to prepare the graduates for a management position in a variety of functions within German companies operating in India
as well as for Indian companies operating a subsidiary in Germany. The main focus of the MBA programme lies on marketing and sales aiming at qualifying the
students for the following positions:

technical marketing and sales manager
key account manager
project manager
procurement manager
branch or regional manager

The GIMS-MBA programme takes two years (4 semesters)
to complete. The first semester takes place at
our partner institution PSG Institute of Advanced Studies
in Coimbatore, India; the second and third semester
are spent at Hof University in Hof, Germany; and
the fourth semester is conducted as a paid internship
at a company located either in India or Germany, which
may be chosen by the student, qualifications pending.

The Master thesis is conducted during this time.
Graduates of the GIMS earn a Master of Business
Administration of Hof University. This MBA degree
permits students to apply for an appropriate job within
Germany.

This Master programme conveys knowledge in the following main areas:

1. Particular management knowledge primarily with reference to value creation: Purchasing and Procurement Logistics, Location Planning Production networks, Marketing and Market Cultivation, After Sales Services.

2. Knowledge of supportive management activities such as Global Business Management, Human Resources Management, Investment and Financing, Accounting and Controlling, Financial Reporting, German and European Business and Labour Law and Fiscal Law, legal aspects in India as well as economic fundamentals.

3. Country-specific knowledge as well as cross-cultural trainings: Contemporary India and Germany, leadership of personnel / work in multicultural teams, intercultural competency.

4. Key qualifications such as social and methodological competences to complete the personal profile of an internationally successful manager: project and process management, social skills, operations research.

5. Application of the gained knowledge to hands-on problem solving: virtual corporate strategic planning simulation as well as the Master thesis. During the course of this Master thesis a practical problem is to be resolved scientifically within an Indian enterprise or a German enterprise in India. The Master thesis will be combined with an internship at the respective firm.
After a successful completion of these studies, Hof University of Applied Sciences awards you the academic degree "Master of Business Administration (MBA)".

Applicants require an outstanding Bachelor degree in any study programme from an accredited institution. Non-Business/Economics Bachelor preferred.International applicants need to provide proof of their proficiency in English. We accept for instance * TOEFL internet-based test (minimum score: 88) or * IELTS of at least 7 or * successful completion of a Bachelor programme taught exclusively in English or in an English speaking country or * two years of work experience in an English-speaking country after Bachelor degree was completed.Please note: This list is a guide. Applications are assessed on an individual basis. Other proof of English proficiency may be considered.German skills are not required to follow the course as all lectures are taught in English. However, it is mandatory for international students to attend some introductory German classes in Hof. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 7 TOEFL iBT® test: 88

The tuition fees are 3750 per semester for 3 semesters
at Hof and Rs.1,50,000 for one semester at PSG.

This includes organizational support from PSG during the visa
application process and assistance during the search for
apartments in Germany by Hof University. Further, it includes
organization of student excursions to various companies
and field trips to cultural sights or events in Germany.
Accommodation and living expenses in Germany are
estimated at 600 per month, including rent and food.
