This class provides students with broad based knowledge and practical skills in field of health, environment and safety. Students undertake professional practice trained in workplaces which range from government agencies through to industrial settings. In first year students are introduced to the field of health, environment and safety in addition to completing base science and communication components. Career opportunities exist in a wide array of private organizations and government organisations because safety and health consultants, researchers and risk managers. Many graduates also find work interstate or overseas.

The Program is fully accredited at a Federal level by the Australian Occupational Health and Safety Education Accreditation Board (Safety Institute of Australia) and in an international level at the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (Great Britain ). Curtin graduates are eligible to apply for professional membership of both accrediting bodies. Graduates are also eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists. Candidates who require accreditation by Environmental Health Australia for job because Environmental Health Officers will need to undertake the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health.
