The Masters Degree by Research is a program of supervised research and study leading to the submission of a thesis. The program is governed by the Program Rules for Masters Degrees by Research which provide details regarding all aspects of admission, progression, submission and examination of the thesis. Consultation with the University will assist you to determine eligibility for admission, to identify the proposed areas of research and to ascertain the availability of suitable supervisors.

Program Structure
To complete the program, a candidate will normally study for an expected period of 2 years (full-time) or 4 years (part-time). New applicants may apply at any time of the year and continuing candidates will be re-enrolled at the beginning of each academic year. The research courses in which Masters candidates enrol are ungraded. Candidates who may be required to complete prescribed courses will be enrolled in a separate program (CP20).
Areas of study:
* Health Science;
* Nursing; and
* Public Health.
You may be considered for admission to candidature for the masters degree if you: * hold an honours degree from the university or any other approved institution in a relevant discipline; or * hold a three year undergraduate degree and a graduate diploma at a high level of academic performance in a relevant discipline; or * hold a three year undergraduate degree at a high level of academic performance in a relevant discipline, plus a minimum of one years relevant work experience; or * hold a three year undergraduate degree with a credit level grade point average (GPA); or * hold a four year undergraduate degree at a high level of academic performance; or * holds an alternative qualification deemed by the panel to be of equivalent scope and standard.Persons holding only a pass degree, and who do not satisfy any of those criteria specified above, will be required to undertake a masters qualifying/enabling program, normally of only one year (full-time) duration, as specified in the University's resolution on masters qualifying programs.
Minimum academic IELTS score of 6.5 with no individual band score of less than 6.0.
