This graduate certification will give you the skills to know, conserve, rebuild and restore legacy materials. Grounded at a hierarchical arrangement of values based direction, the course enables you to explore how legacy materials are created, how they react to their changing surroundings, how folks value them, and also how conservation professionals make sure that they live into the foreseeable future. Through practical workshops and behind the scenes tours of heritage sites and collections you will learn to inquire into the status and significance of legacy products and develop conservation and management plans to get them, and carry out laboratory and onsite treatment methods to restore and preserve them. Intrinsic to this training course is the flexibility to come up with your personal vision, interests and focus as a conservation pro, while your passion is assembled or machinery heritage, small thing and technological collections, artworks, archives, personal memorabilia or different kinds of heritage. This minor can be used with the Bachelor of Arts (Culture and Heritage) and the Master of Arts to create a comprehensive set of cultural and professional leadership skills that will prepare you for a rewarding career in the cultural sector. It's also acceptable for students with a background in science, ecological management, design, technology or building and construction.

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree or equivalent as approved by the University.
