Cities, Migration and Global Interdependence

This one-year programme will train you to approach current issues such as migration from an academic perspective. To gain a deep understanding of these issues, you will focus on changes and continuities from the 16th to the 20th century. The programme has an interdisciplinary approach, applying and adapting theories from sociology, anthropology, political science, criminology and economics. In addition, a wide variety of sources will be used. You will work with diaries, newspapers, parliamentary papers, population registers, interviews, novels, photos and films, statistics and business archives.
