Requirements for the Horn Programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky

The Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky offers a comprehensive Horn Programme for prospective students. The programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful horn players.

In order to be accepted into the Horn Programme, applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the horn. This includes a strong understanding of the fundamentals of horn playing, as well as the ability to read music and play in a variety of styles. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the study of music and a willingness to work hard.

Applicants must also submit a portfolio of their work, which should include recordings of their playing, as well as written compositions and/or arrangements. The portfolio should demonstrate the applicant's musicality, creativity, and technical proficiency.

Our faculty is comprised of some of the most respected and experienced horn players in the world, and our curriculum is designed to give students the skills and knowledge they need to become successful professional musicians.

The Horn programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky offers students a comprehensive education in all aspects of horn playing. Students will learn the fundamentals of horn playing, including technique, tone production, and interpretation. They will also gain an understanding of the history and literature of the horn, as well as the fundamentals of music theory and composition. Our faculty will provide students with individualized instruction and guidance, helping them to develop their own unique style and sound.
