The degree course is structured in order to provide the students with a solid legal culture on both national and European basis as well as with the essential instruments to update their own competences also through an in-depth analysis of the historical background of the legal notions. The teaching activities are supported by seminars which allow the students to develop specific competences and abilities to interpret the law not only through a theoretical approach but also trough a case by case method, especially with reference to topics useful to understand and evaluate principles and institutes of the law.
Expected learning outcomesThe 2nd cycle degree programme in Law is established under the Ministerial Decree 270/2004. The new five year degree programme will train graduates in the practice of law, as lawers or judges. Upon completion of the programme, the latter will be able to perform activities and be employed, in reference to positions characterised by substantial responsibility, in various fields of social, socio-economic and political nature; or in institutions, public administration, private enterprises, sector unions, in the informatics sector, the comparative, international and EC law sector, as well as in international organizations where analysis, evaluation and decision making abilities of the lawyer prove fruitful beyond the sectoral expensive.

Final Examination
The University of Bologna offers Unibo Action 2 study grants to deserving international students, who wish to register for Single Cycle Degree Programmes in A.Y. 2014/2015. The grants, worth 11,000 gross, are assigned on the basis of the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) test scores.
