To qualify with an LLM, students are required to take the module that bears the title of their chosen programme and write a 10,000-word dissertation in the area of their ‘core’ module. In addition, students are required to select three electives.
Assessment involves the writing of a memorandum of advice on a set topic within each module (worth 30 per cent of the marks for that module) and an unseen examination.

To apply for the BPP University's LLM you must meet the following minimum admissions requirements:
- Law degree (including criminology and criminal justice studies) (minimum 2.2); or
- A degree with some legal/regulatory content and relevance to the programme (minimum 2.2); or
- Non-law degree (minimum 2.2) and a pass in the GDL or CPE; or
- Non-law degree (minimum 2.2) and appropriate/ relevant professional experience; or
- Non-graduates with appropriate professional experience will also be considered
