This qualification defines the abilities and knowledge required of a marine craft construction trades person within the marine craft construction market. The eligibility packaging has been created on an assumption that competency will probably be made through a combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies like those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. Skills development should be undertaken via a Australian Apprenticeship arrangement through which the combination of on and off-the-job training could be defined in the Coaching Plan related to the Contract of Coaching between the employer and apprentice.Assessment of certain units of competency must, where indicated, include evidence of the candidate's performance in a functioning workplace where there is an acceptable range of appropriate actions and materials to insure the scope of use of these components. All outcomes must reflect the quality of performance inherent in the job.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements affect the eligibility during the time of publication. However, in a few jurisdictions units within this qualification can relate with licensing or regulatory requirements. Local regulations should be assessed.
