In addition to achieving professional competence in one of these professions, students will study areas that include human anatomy, physiology, and pathology; general sciences; Canadian health care; care and education of patients; safe use of ultrasound and radiation; image acquisition and review; clinical inquiry and research methods; and moral issues and diversity in health care.The program begins in September and consists of four years (ten terms) of academic and clinical studies. Academic studies are completed at the McMaster University campus, including the Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences. This facility houses one of the largest and most comprehensive medical imaging labs, supporting the clinical skills development of Master of Radiation Sciences students. Clinical practice is provided through placement in a variety of hospitals and independent health facilities affiliated with the program located throughout Ontario.
