Mental Health Nursing

This pro postgraduate qualification is open to convenient, successful nursing graduates. It is 1.5 years full-time or 2-3 years parttime, with 8 units of study along with an exit option at a Graduate Diploma (6 units of study). The class aims to provide students a deeper understanding of mental wellness, through systematic analysis and reflection on the relationships between theory and clinical practice. There's a chance to depart a degree level with high level specialist knowledge or finish the Master of Mental Health Nursing to reach a clinical consultancy degree of clinic. It aims to give comprehensive wisdom and life-long learning skills required in contemporary mental health practice. The curriculum offers an higher level clinical practice component. Specialty modules allow pupils to undertake advanced and concentrated studies within their own specific area of interest. Students may also be likely to undertake supervised and assessed clinical practice.

Graduates of the Master of Mental Health Nursing Will apply for Registration with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Membership might be susceptible to additional or continuing conditions beyond completion of the amount. Please contact the relevant body to get details.

• Applicants should have a completed Bachelor of Nursing and also should be described as a Division 1 Registered Nurse and hold a current practising certificate together with all the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Applicants must also be employed in a setting that provides vulnerability to emotional health demonstrations
• NB: Collecting minimal requirements will not guarantee an offer of an area
• Entry into all La Trobe classes relies on competitive selection and there might be limited places available.
