This course is designed to satisfy the graduate desires of registered nurses wanting to acquire registration to practise in the area of midwifery. It supplies an extensive theoretical and clinical study in midwifery, also features a discussion of practitioner, sociopolitical and ethico-legal issues regarding your household, and research skills which enhance midwifery clinic and interpersonal processes. Students handle concurrent job for being a student midwife within a licensed midwifery unit. Midwives have been in high demand at the moment, in the public and private health systems, and the present shortage is forecast to continue for a while. The class demands concurrent job in a licensed midwifery unit for a single year (four times a week) in order for students to fulfill certain requirements to gain midwifery enrollment with the National Board of Nursing and Midwifery.
