Career prospects

The Major in Instrumental/Vocal Performance covers the fundamental aspects of performance (instrumental/vocal, chamber music, orchestra repertoire). The Major in Wind Orchestra Conducting usually requires previous study of a wind instrument and corresponds to a band conducting qualification. The Major in Ensemble Conducting (Contemporary Repertoire) is designed for contemporary music performers and composers, and teaches ensemble conducting skills.
Skills
The specific aim is to provide a musical education focussed clearly on performance and at the same time based on the capacity for autonomous judgment and critical reflection, providing students with the means and tools which, on completion of the MA programme, will allow them to realise their full artistic potential.
