Acadia offers a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree and a post-graduate Certificate in Music Therapy leading to accreditation as a music therapist. In addition to core music courses, students take six comprehensive Music Therapy Courses, participate in various Practicum Sites and Music Therapy Ensembles to train the student in the theoretical and practical aspects of music therapy. This is enhanced with several courses in Psychology and related topics. The goal is to assure that the graduate will be ready for the next phase of their development as a music therapist, the 1000-hour internship required for accreditation by the Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT).
