The TWU nursing program provides students with both the fundamentals and specifics a career in nursing requires, including studies in pharmacology, nutrition, nursing theories and nursing in a transcultural area. A focus on culture, diversity and social justice prepares students to engage with patients and communities from an ethically-sensitive perspective. Students have the opportunity to develop their practical skills in the on-campus nursing lab and in off-campus clinical sites (in a variety of hospital settings). A final practicum experience allows students to work alongside nurses in practice. Students also assist with research and work alongside faculty in the lab. TWU's program is approved by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. TWU is a member of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing.
