This class could produce occupational health and security practitioners with strong theoretical and technical occupational health and safety (OHS) skills in a range of disciplines. There is an increased exposure of industry established assessment and the development of technical skills. This course attracts students from a wide variety of occupations and businesses from people that are working in OHS and would like to gain formal credentials to people intending to function in OHS including engineers, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physical education/human movement science scholars, environmental health officials, educators, chemists and a number of different occupations. The class intends to produce research expertise and invite scholars to detect new information and novel methods of solving issues. Research skills will be demonstrated through the completion of an original research endeavor in the area of OHS.
The course is recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (UK). Upon graduating, graduates are eligible to apply for IOSH membership and certificate with the Safety Institute of Australia.
