Description
You will spend half your time on the course studying theory and research, and half on practice placements. Placements are designed to enable your competence to develop in terms of hands-on occupational therapy skills.
Your first year will involve an introductory fieldwork experience, followed by fieldwork of increasing length. This will ensure you gain the minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised practice.
Throughout the practice experience you will be supported by a practice placement educator.

All UK/EU students are eligible for:
- A non-means tested grant of £1,000 (non-repayable)
- A means-tested bursary of up to £4,395 (non-repayable)
Students are also entitled to apply for a reduced rate non-means-tested loan from Student Finance England of £2,324; this will need to be repaid after graduation. Visit the NHS Student Bursaries office website for more information and where you can complete an online calculator to work out how much support you will be eligible for.
Channel Island and Isle of Man applicants are eligible for an NHS commissioned place, but are not eligible to receive NHS funding. Applicants therefore have to fund the course privately or via their Island LEA.
