Requirements for the Organ Programme at Claudio Monteverdi Institute of Music Studies

The Organ Programme at Claudio Monteverdi Institute of Music Studies is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful organist. To be accepted into the programme, prospective students must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of Grade 8 in Organ Performance or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Music Theory or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Music History or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Aural Training or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Sight-Reading or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Keyboard Harmony or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Improvisation or equivalent.
  • A minimum of Grade 5 in Composition or equivalent.

In addition to the above requirements, prospective students must also demonstrate a commitment to the study of organ music and performance. This commitment should be demonstrated through a portfolio of compositions, recordings, and/or performances.
