Physiotherapy

The physician of Physiotherapy delivers an advanced problem based learning model of physiotherapy education to prepare entrance level physiotherapists to their duties and roles as contact professionals. The program integrates the clinical, pathological and related sciences with all the physiotherapy knowledge, skills and professional behaviours and attitudes essential to examine, diagnose and treat physiotherapy clients. The physician of Physiotherapy assists students to progressively develop and apply their knowledge, skills and professional attitudes and behavior for physiotherapy practice and places a strong emphasis on clinical learning 50 percent of the program undertaken at a clinical context. The first 30 weeks of clinical clinic addresses five core areas in the community and hospital settings and one elective. Factor encounters throughout the lifespan are sought at the clinical areas of: Orthopaedics cardiorespiratory clinic; outpatient musculoskeletal practice (hospital or private clinic settings); Neurological and ortho-geriatric rehabilitation (hospital and community settings); Chronic Disease and Disability, whether paediatric or adult in context Paediatrics or women / men's health( or personal / sports clinic In the last semester, this program culminates at a 12-week clinical internship with an aligned research undertaking. This extending clinical / research capacity was made to ensure graduates are well prepared for entrance in to the physiotherapy work force.

Australian Physiotherapy Council

• Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science degree, or Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree from Bond University, or equivalent degree in a recognised institution
