The Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice allows students to complete the technical legal training (PLT) requirements necessary for admission by the Supreme Court of NSW to practise as a lawyer. The UTS PLT application is accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) of the Supreme Court of NSW and offers students a university-standard degree of teaching, including interactive exercises such as practice courts, simulated practice transactions and skills training. Career options include lawyer, provided professors have fulfilled all of the instructional requirements.

  • Recognised bachelor degree or equivalent, or other evidence that shows potential to pursue graduate studies. Equivalent qualification required is a bachelor's degree in lawenforcement, the Juris Doctor, the LPAB Diploma in Law, or a law certificate in an overseas authority. Applicants may meet the requirements to initiate their technical legal training (PLT) studies when they've completed all of core law subjects and have no over 2 electives, or 12 credit points of electives, staying in their main law certificate. Applicants who want to initiate their PLT ahead of the conclusion of their main law degree has to have the written consent of the LPAB. The English proficiency requirement for international students or community applicants with international credentials is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
