The Department of Psychology’s graduate programs owe their strength to the quality of our research faculty, well-organized programs of study, extensive opportunities for student-faculty interaction, and a diverse offering of research specializations.
Completion of the MA degree requires at least 30 credits (more in some programs). The requirements for the MA can be divided into the following four groups:
  • thesis (18 credits)
  • statistics (3 or 6 credits, depending on the program)
  • core program (6 or more credits, depending on the program), and
  • breadth (3 credits)
The prerequisite to the MA program is a four-year BA or BSc with a major or honours in Psychology. Students should have at least an 80% (or a GPA of 3.5) average in the last two years of undergraduate courses.
