This qualification defines the skills and knowledge demanded of a heating system, venting, ac and refrigeration (HVAC/R) trades person within metal, engineering, fabricating and associated industries. The eligibility was specifically developed for apprentices in the above trade. The eligibility packaging was created in an assumption that competency will be developed through a combination of on and off-the-job learning plans like the ones delivered via a formal apprenticeship. The qualification could also be done through formal skills recognition assessment processes.The skills linked with this eligibility are intended to use to a wide range HVAC/R work, including building, installing, repairing and maintaining industrial, domestic and commercial air conditioning and plumbing systems and equipment.This eligibility is designed to present a market recognized skills profile related to commerce act for a refrigeration and ac trades person. Skills development should be undertaken via an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement at which the mix of online and off-the-job training will be specified from the Training Plan related to the Contract of Training between the company and apprentice.Assessment of some units of competency must, where suggested, include evidence of the candidate's performance in a functioning workplace where there's an adequate variety of appropriate activities and materials to pay the range of use of those components.
