The world of robotics is exciting and fast paced – revolutionising the way we live, work and play.

This course is for you if you’re a non-engineering graduate wishing to work for engineering companies. This MSc will give you the skills needed to work for employers developing or applying:

  • devices or systems for robotics and automation
  • smart systems with autonomous capability
  • ubiquitous and wearable computing.

You build on your individual responsibility, critical awareness and creative thinking and examine issues such as:

  • project management, planning and scheduling
  • resourcing
  • documentation and communication.
  1. Research in Engineering and Design is of world renown. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), 88 per cent of our research outputs and 90 per cent of our research impact is categorised as world leading or internationally excellent.
  2. The Department has strong links with industry, which are used to benefit both Masters-level and PhD research projects and enhance the employment opportunities for our graduates.

Requirements

  • Magistr or Specialist Diploma with a minimum average mark of at least 4
  • This course is designed for non-engineering graduates. It is suitable for students with a first- or second-class undergraduate honours degree in subjects including and related to mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, agricultural engineering, and those subjects where graduates have developed logical analytical skills which may include, for example, economics, experimental psychology, and physical geography. 
  • Applicants will also be interviewed as part of the selection process.
  • IELTS 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each section.
