Science

This system allows students to select upto two areas from a broad range of themes in first year which set the foundation for specialisation in second and third year. A selection of specialisations are available from the types recorded. During fieldwork and technical experience pupils accept hands-on study and research in areas such as tropical rainforests, coastal wetlands, mangroves, tropical savannah, and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as in more traditional science places.

• Year 12 or equivalent.
  Assumed knowledge: English (Units 3/4,C)
• Mathematical methods (Components 3/4( C). Recommended: one of biology, chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Geography, Marine Science, pro maths or physics (Components 3/4,C). Students without chemistry (Components 3/4,C) or mathematical methods (Components 3/4,C) must take math or chemistry preparatory subjects in Year 1.
